NOAA is looking to hire ocean modelers / oceanographers at the Northwest Fisheries Science Center (Seattle, WA or Newport, OR) and Northeast Fisheries Science Center (Woods Hole, MA, Narragansett, RI, or Atlantic Highlands, NJ). The people in these positions will help to develop, evaluate, and deliver sub-seasonal to annual forecasts and long-term projections using regional ocean models of the Northeast Pacific or Northwest Atlantic. The new staff members will ideally have expertise including ocean and biogeochemical/plankton ecosystem modeling, and be comfortable integrating local and regional data sets into the ocean/biogeochemical model evaluation suite. These positions will help support NOAA Fisheries’ mission activities under the Inflation Reduction Act as part of the Climate, Ecosystems, and Fisheries Initiative (CEFI), and will assist our efforts to increase the resiliency of our nation's marine resources against climate change impacts.
