what does it mean??

#1 Unread post by kobl1201 »

hi~

i don't understand T0(background potential temperature) and theta_S.

my model was set as T0 = 14d0, theta_S = 1.0d0

what is effect this parameter in roms model, if i set T0 = 10.0d0 and theta_s = 2.0d0???

These variables are completely independent. T0 is part of the linear equation of state, if you are using it. It gets ignored if you use the nonlinear equation of state. Theta_s is part of the vertical stretching function defined here.
