Units in iron model

#1 Unread post by drivas »

Hello,
I'm running the iron-limitation model ("NPZD_IRON") but I have some doubts about the units. Apparently, the iron fields must be provided in millimol per cubic meter, as done for variables like "NO3", even if iron concentrations would be expressed adequately in MICROmol per cubic meter. This seems true also for the iron surface flux ("iron_sflux"), which have to be provided in millimol per cubic meter like the boundary and initial iron fields, but this way the model seems insensitive to the iron flux. Is this correct? All the iron variables must be expressed in millimol per cubic meter or there's a discrepancy?
Thanks for your attention,
David
