Discharge a chemical substance

#1 Unread post by AMIRHOSSEIN »

Hello everybody,

I have a little basic question

Suppose there is petrochemical contamination, then how many scenarios can be considered for the discharge of pollution to the sea?
How should we know at what sea level the discharge should take place? (Should the discharge be a point or wide? or Is it better to discharge along the river or directly to the sea?)
How can we know the optimum mode?

Finally, which options should be activated in .h?

Thanks a lot

There are people who study oil spills, maybe not on this forum though. What I know of it is that they simulate a spill for all those cases and see where it goes. For some hypothetical spill, you want to be prepared for all the cases, all the sea levels, all the wind directions. Is it from a leaky barge, from a leaky pipeline, or from the source itself, like Deepwater Horizon? Maybe you are thinking of a tank near the river, like what happened in Russia? Try some things and see what you get.
