A graduate research assistantship (stipend + tuition waiver) starting Spring 2021 or Fall 2021 is available in the Department of Oceanography and Coastal Sciences at Louisiana State University. The student will work on a 5-year project sponsored by the National Science Foundation. The project numerically studies upper-ocean mixing and air-sea gas transfer, and hopefully improves the formulation of those processes in hindcast/forecast models such as ROMS and COAWST. The student will also participate in the outreach component of the project that involves interactions with undergraduate students, middle/high school teachers, and the general public.
Applicants must have a master's or an undergraduate degree in oceanography, atmospheric sciences, civil/mechanical engineering, or a closely related field. Past experience in ocean modeling or CFD is a plus. If interested, please send an email with your CV and any questions to Dr. Junhong Liang at jliang@lsu.edu.
