Hi all.
I run COAWST forecast and make open boundary by roms_master...m file from HYCOM model.
But i seen John Warner said: zeta variable of Hycom data is not well.
So where i can get other zeta to replace zeta of Hycom?
Thank you
How to get zeta var without Hycom data for COAWST forecast
Re: How to get zeta var without Hycom data for COAWST foreca
So your question is specific to ROMS to get ssh data for a boundary file. I am not sure what i said, but it was probably a mention that HYCOM data does not have tides (?). So if you want sea surface height data with tides, there are other sources. Where is your domain?

i am not sure that using free surface from HYCOM is the best choice. it really depends on your domain. i would think adcirc/osu tides would be a better place to start.
for the error, it is difficult to tell. You could try to run the modeling system with just roms, and that would limit where to look. If it runs for a few time steps, then output the his file every time step and see where it blows up. you can try to reduce the physics options, etc. you will need to dig around and try a few things.

about my problem:
my domain is south china sea
I use osu tide but tide.nc file have not zeta variable.

Re: How to get zeta var without Hycom data for COAWST foreca
I want to study the ocean-atmosphere interaction with the Coawst model. But the atmosphere file is empty in the code of ROMS. Can anyone tell me how to get the Coawst model? Thanks very much!

yes, we have developed coawst as a separate entity from the roms code. please send me an email and we can give you access:
