ROMS generated first history file and then got Output_error

#1 Unread post by LeaF_7 »

Hi,

I got some problems in running the simulation here and wonder whether somebody have encounter this before.

The model was running fine before and when I want to continue with the restart file I got the problem.

The model seems to be running for a while and then aborted, generated the first history file and can not write the first average file there.

From the output log I got:
5191 NETCDF_PUT_FVAR_1D - error while writing variable: ocean_time
5192 in input file: /work/fanlin/yellowsea_Output/2013/avg_0000.nc
5193 call from: wrt_avg.F
5194 NetCDF: Not a valid ID
...
5496
5497 ROMS/TOMS - Output error ............ exit_flag: 3
5498
5499
5500 ERROR: Abnormal termination: NetCDF OUTPUT.
5501 REASON: NetCDF: Not a valid ID
Does anyone have a sense of what happened here?

Thanks a lot!

I hate when that happens. I haven't dug in to figure out why it happens, exactly. Do you have any averages files you can copy into the 0000.nc file?

Actually, faint glimmers of having set DSTART wrong are coming back to me. If your DSTART is after the date in your restart file, it will ask for the 0000 file. Check to make sure that everything to do with the model time is consistent.
