i ran a simulation for the wind effect on inlet dynamics.
firstly, i specified the wind forcing (sustress, svstess) in a coarse grid and relied on the model itself to interpolate into the model grid. the modeled velocities is much smaller than i expected. Interesting, i specified a zero wind stress in u component, and a sinusoidally varying wind stress in v direction, while the modeled u velocity is much larger than v velocity.
i then specified the wind stress as u stress on u point, v stress on v point, there is not much change for the model results, the u velocity is still larger than v velocity, and generally the current is much weaker than i got by another model EFDC.
is there something wrong for my forcing specification?
