Bottom roughness length scale

#1 Unread post by ShimaKasaei »

Hi all,

I am trying to simulate rain and water depth and runoff on land area after rain.

For better understanding and more realistic simulation, I have to add bottom roughness for the land area. To define a various Zob for the domain that I have, I calculated Zob based on C-CAP, then I am using #define UV_DRAG_GRID in my .h file, and I added a ZoBot variable in my grid .nc file with the Zob values for the grid domain that I am simulating.

The issue is, it seems like the model is not considering ZoBot as the depth of water in the land area is not changing that much.

Is there any step I am missing??

I would appreciate any help or suggestions.

Best,
Shima

I must say that the hand calculations of bottom dynamic stresses (from the formula) are much bigger than what ROMS shows in the output as bustr and bvstr.
