regarding pnetcdf ....

Dear all,

does anyone experiences slow performance of hpc cluster with netcdf with pnetcdf option ?
is it good option to build netcdf with pnetcdf option ? will it affect simulation ?

any hint/suggestion please ?

Nope, ROMS does not support pnetcdf :!: The parallel pnetcdf library was developed by the Argonne National Laboratory and not UNIDATA. In NetCDF version 4.x the pnetcdf library was incorporated to the NetCDF suite. I haven't look into that in long time. Previously, it required different calls and parameters.

I am puzzled why are you looking into pnetcdf for ROMS. It is very easy to learn more about pnetcdf. You just need to google it and learn/think more about it.

I use google several times at day. There is lots of information out there :!: We just need to be more curious and look for the answers ourselves...

I have reported about parallel I/O in this forum, you just need to do your homework and read such messages.
