After opening the diagnostic_UV, nc file(avg) outputs presents different physical results

I'm having a problem with my input file and parameters not changing, the only thing that's changed is that I've turned on the diagnostic.

blowing-up with ' REASON: KEchar = NaN, PEchar = NaN' report

Hi, good day for everyone. I was running a climate state case recently, and after five months of running the model, the model blow up with the 'REASON: KEchar = NaN, PEchar = NaN' report。This is a nested grid model, I've been searching the forums for answers to this question, and some people say it h...

Re: Some Questions about make a forecasting system

What are you trying to forecast? If you are only forecasting total water levels or flooding, the problem is somewhat simpler and less sensitive to the use of data assimilation. Instead it requires more attention to met forcing, ensembling, river inputs, and perhaps postprocessing bias corrections b...

Some Questions about make a forecasting system

I need to make a forecasting system now, and I have some questions about it. Hope all the teachers can give me some help.   I read some literature and learned that the forecast system usually provides an available initial field for the real simulation of the model through spinup o...

Too small M2 tide amplitude result in estuary

Hi. I encountered too small and abnormal M2 tide amplitude result compared to observation data. The tidal forcing is from the TPXO 7.2. This reslut in the weak surface mixing.(or maybe tide is not the only factor affect mixing, but my m2 tide amplitude model result is too sall) I've tried different 2...

the middle layer velocity blows up

I update the ROMS from Version 3.4 to 4.1, then the middle layer velocity blows up in the 9000th step, while it runs well in ROMS version 3.4 with same input nc and initial conditions. Fig.1 is the blow up point, it is on the shore of an island. I try to make the depth get more smooth, or change it...

Re: too high bottom temperature result in estuary

Tmax is time. The max value 26.6 is OK. Consider your jerlov water type WTYPE. If it's 1 (clear ocean water) then in a shallow estuary a lot of sunlight reaches the seafloor and is trapped there because the bottom is effectively insulated. Use type 3 or 4 and absorption is more rapid keeping heatin...

too high bottom temperature result in estuary

Hi. I encountered high and abnormal bottom temperature results compared to observation data. The surface temperature of the whole model domain is same like MODIS and HYCOM. But in my study domain, the estuary, its temperature is too high, especially at the bottom, this result is abnormal. I've tried...
